Introduction
Let us revise the story of Hayate no Gotoku! so far in this final volume. Here we collected some “possible” bad ends and alternative scenes. Please look forward to the return of the series while imagining in your head the scenes mentioned above!
- Start: Taking up a debt of 150 Million yen.
- Meeting Nagi.
Alternative scene: If he hadn’t met Nagi, Hayate would be frozen to death. - Becoming butler.
- Entering Hakuou Academy.
- Saving Yukiji.
Alternative scene: If unable to save Yukiji, both Hayate and Yukiji would fall to their death. - Beginning of school life.
- Cursed by the Hinamatsuri doll.
- Breaking the curse.
Alternative scene: If the curse has not been broken, Hayate would become a maid forever. - Life as a butler continued.
- Going to hot spring in Izu on a bike.
Alternative scene: It could well be a good chance to date Izumi. - Going abroad for the first time in life.
- The “Athena Incident”.
- Nagi losing the right to inheritance.
- Start of apartment life.
- Meeting Ruka.
- Identity exposed.
Alternative scene: If not exposed, there could be something awakening inside Hayate’s body. - Nagi helping with doujin activities.
- The doujin battle between Nagi and Ruka.

Doughnut Gunso Comments
- For those who have no idea what those “alternate scenes” are about, they are actually taken from the inner cover of the Tankobons. They are meant (mainly) just for fun, so let us not question too much about the credibility of these scenes.
- That said, maybe I should be happy that none of the three “Hinagiku bad scenes” make into this timeline.
Hayate Report 
Wow, those bad ends seem really dark…. at least it doesn’t involve mentally unstable school girls violently murdering the main “hero” and each other. Why does the alternate scene of going to a hot spring in Izu involves dating Izumi?
“If not exposed, there could be something awakening inside Hayate’s body” What could that be? Could it be that Hayate finally realizes his incredible popularity and gigolo powers with the ladies… and one guy? Or does Hayate realize that he is a girl trapped inside an incredibly effeminate boy’s body?
You are thinking about School Days, I suppose. 😛
My guess is that Izumi was just a random pick. Hata could have drawn anyone, but he settled on Izumi, I think.

I thought the awakening would be that Hayate would be turning into a girl inside, but I guess that’s pretty much what they meant. XD
